I am crap at making post titles.

Right, been a while since I posted now so time for an update.  I’ve finally finished student life, I receive my results tomorrow to see if I’ve managed to scrape through a computing masters without any real computing education.  Now life consists of doing absolutely nothing for a few weeks whilst I catch up on laziness after missing pretty much the entire summer through uni work (honest!).

So, recently, Villa lost stupidly in the Carling Cup so did Manure and Newcastle so that softened the blow slightly.  Was nice to finally see Curtis Davies, a young promising defender, make an honest assesment of his own performance.  Even though I’ve seen no evidence of it, it’s nice for someone to stand up and say they were rubbish without sugar-coating their performance and blaming others.  Hopefully he’ll work extra hard for that centre-back spot now and really push Laursen, Knight and Mellberg into playing better as well.

Mourinho left a while back and I haven’t written a thing about it yet so here goes.  The English game has lost a true great manager in Mourinho.  His record speaks for itself, obviously he had the money but getting a team of world class players to gel in such a short space of time in no easy feat, (see Steve McClaren).  His personality is the thing I’ll miss the most, and it was only since his departure that this fact came to mind.  His interviews were full of humour, the media couldn’t intimidate him he always had something in his locker to keep them entertained without really letting them get him down.  Shame he’s gone hopefully someone as bright will replace that dullard Grant before too long.

On the playing front I’m still injured, don’t know exactly what it is but hopefully after a two week break it’ll clear up and I can go back to running aimlessly about on sundays.  The team won 2-1 without me last week so lets hope they can continue that form again this and then I’ll have to improve to get into the team and not just turn up week in week out.
